RESULTS FROM REAL FOOD
How eating real, whole foods has helped me and how it can help you, too.
I believe it is very important to clarify that I did this journey specifically to show each and every one of you how important good nutrition really is if you want to be in a better condition. But here’s another note, not only does good nutrition help to improve your overall physical physique, but it will also promote better health (physical AND mental), better skin, better brain power, every single thing in your life can improve if you start with your nutrition.
I would also like to clarify that I did not do this to be “stage ready.”
I am not a physique competitor.
I’m not a bodybuilder.
I’m not a fitness model.
I’m just a regular guy who wants to be better. 🙂
Could I have lost more weight by cutting extreme calories, watching every single little piece of food that entered my mouth, and only living off of a few plain, basic, flavorless meals with just clean foods each day?
Sure.
Could I have eaten anything I wanted, even junk food, so long as I made sure I only ate a certain limit of calories and macronutrients per meal each day and still lost weight?
Yes.
There are people who would agree with me and say you can eat anything you want as long as you keep it within your macronutrient goals, and they are right.
You can look great and eat anything you want. But I’m not worried about just looking great, I want to feel great, feel confident, look good, and build healthy lifestyle habits to carry out for the rest of my life and to teach my future children and many others.
I did this to show you how eating real, as close to nature as possible, foods can make you look and feel so much better.
Here is the best part…
What I did can be done by you too!
I promise you it was not hard, it did not take a ton of willpower (which studies have shown is a finite resource), and I did not limit myself to only eating kale salads and plain chicken. I ate real, delicious foods all the time. If you don’t believe, take a look at my Instagram, I shared my meal prep for every week over the past 12 weeks! I didn’t starve myself to lose weight, I didn’t use any magic potion, special pills, or secret formula shakes to do it.
Were all 12 of my weeks of clean eating completely clean?
Nope.
I’m human, I’m not perfect.
And let’s be realistic here, I do live with the puppy chow treat queen (who recently published her first, very own cook book, and you should probably consider supporting her blog by checking it out).
What kind of husband would I be if I didn’t help her by being her in-house taste tester?? 😉
This is why I call myself a flexible clean eater. I enjoy a Quest bar, I enjoy a beer or a glass of wine, I enjoy and indulge in a sweet here or there (or there). I wasn’t perfect, and I never claimed to be. I do however claim to be real, honest, and completely open with all of you about what I did and how I did it.
It wasn’t like I had to use a ton of willpower, which I mentioned is a finite resource. I used my brain and realized if I prepare the meals ahead of time, balance them correctly, and stay consistent, I will be able to reach my goals… And I did.
YOU CAN, TOO!
It is just a matter of knowing what to eat, and what to avoid.
Fun fact about this journey…I actually exceeded my goals. I originally planned to take this journey slow and steady to get back to where I started. I actually did better and pushed myself past my original starting point. For that, I am proud.
Starting point: 155.8 pounds & 16.1% body fat
Finishing point: 147.2 pounds & 13.4% body fat
My results are not a guarantee of your own results. I kept a consistent workout routine and plan. Note that exercise in addition to healthy and clean, whole foods will help accelerate your results.
Thanks for following me on my journey!
