Membership Hold
THIS IS NOT A TERMINATION REQUEST
As outlined in your Bent On Better membership service agreement (referenced below), we recognize the need for flexibility in your fitness journey.
Please note that depending on the timing of your hold request, billing dates may be adjusted. Submitting a hold request is solely your responsibility—Bent On Better will only process requests submitted through the designated Hold Request Form.
Cancellation During Hold:
If you choose to cancel your membership during a hold period—whether it is a courtesy hold, medical hold, or paid hold—you must provide Four (4) weeks' notice. During this period, either Four (4) weeks of active membership payments will be due, or a single payment equal to Four (4) weeks of your agreement rate must be made. This payment will be kept on file as a membership credit for One (1) full year from the date of your cancellation request. Please note that fees for extended holds will not be refunded.
If you later decide to reactivate your membership, the rates in effect at that time will apply, as membership rates are subject to change.
Read more below the form regarding extended holds and medical holds.
Annual Service Agreement - Hold Policy
Courtesy Hold:
- Members on an active, non-expired annual agreement are eligible for a courtesy hold of up to Eight (8) weeks per year.
- Hold requests must be submitted at least Two (2) business days in advance via the Hold Request Form.
- Billing continues as scheduled during the hold, but the hold period will be added to the end of the current membership term.
Extended Hold:
- If needed, you may freeze your membership dues for up to Forty (40) additional weeks at a rate of $49 per Four (4)-week increment.
- Extended holds are non-refundable unless the hold is due to a medical reason and must be pre-approved by the Bent On Better administrative team. Requests should be submitted via the Hold Request Form.
Medical Hold (for documented medical conditions, illness, surgery, or injury):
- Members facing documented medical circumstances—such as illness, surgery, injury, or other medical conditions—may either use their courtesy hold time or pay a $49 fee per Four (4) weeks to freeze membership dues. This hold will automatically renew every Four (4) weeks at $49 until Bent On Better receives a legitimate doctor’s note.
- Fees paid during a medical hold will be credited as membership time upon receipt of the doctor’s note.
Reactivation:
- Your account will automatically reactivate after the hold period unless you request an extension at least Seven (7) days before the hold ends.
